Westley Eckhardt (Swami Shanmugananda) is director and trainer of trainers in 'Yoga Center Madrid', Psychologist and Cofounder of A.I.P.Y.S. A disciple and deputy director of Swami Vishnudevanandas organisation, he led the ashrams of Canada and the Bahamas for 17 years. Profound connoisseur of the Hindu tradition with more than three decades of experience in his teaching. Specialised in Oriental Philosophy, Yogic Tradition, Meditation, Mindfulness and 'Mindset'. I add to my baggage three master's degrees in the United Kingdom: a master's degree in psychology, a master's degree in business administration and a master's degree in philosophy.
Mabel is our most senior Hatha Yoga and Yoga-Pilates teacher. Mabel teaches the practice and pedagogy in our Yoga Teacher Training Courses. She has advanced diplomas in both styles as well as a diploma in Yoga Iyengar.
Ramón Clares is director of Iyengar Yoga training at 'Yoga Center'. Ramon is free of any Guru bonds. He directs the Teacher Training Courses in Iyengar Yoga (Instructor, Teacher and Post-Graduate) of the Sananda International Association of Yoga Teachers (AIPYS). He teaches daily at 'Yoga Center'as well as intensive workshops throughout the year and in the summer.
Pedro graduated in history from the University of Salamanca. He also holds the AIPYS Yoga Teacher diploma in Hatha Yoga and Meditation. Professor and specialist in meditation traditions, he began his workshops in 2004 at the Yoga Center in Madrid. At present he is devoted to the practice and diffusion of meditation in small groups, where he freely teaches his personal commitment to this ancestral pracitice from a human point of view. He is also author of two books, "Amantia" and "El Tambor Silencioso"
Tais has completed her advanced diplomas in Iyengar Yoga from AIPYS under Ramon Clares.She teaches Iyengar Yoga clases and assists in the Iyengar Teacher training courses.
I have been continuously learning and practicing at Yoga Center Madrid and I'm happy to share what I have learned with my students, from whom I also learn daily. I eventually trained as a Hatha Yoga Teacher, Ashtanga Vinyasa and as a Vinyasa Flow Instructor with AIPYS and did workshops with highly regarded teachers such as Peter Samson, Liz Lark and Lino Miele.
I delight in the joy on the faces of all those people who have decided to enter the world of Yoga. Some years ago my curiosity allowed me to discover the world of yoga. Because of my scientific training, yoga was initially a challenge for me because it conflicted directly with my thinking and everything I had learned. But the best thing about my curiosity was my desire to learn and my doubts helped me discover and enjoy a new world full of sensations, perceptions and movement.
I completed Hatha Yoga Teacher Training with AIPYS in 2006, and that same year received my Mat Pilates Instructor Diploma. Chrystiani, is one of the most creative Yoga Center teachers of Iyengar and Hatha Yoga styles. Chrys is also part of the training faculty and offers very interesting workshops on different aspects of yoga.
For over twelve years I have attended Yoga Center Madrid, inspired by the dedication and passion to enrich the experience of YOGA.
I have practiced hatha yoga since 2004. It has helped me find peace of mind, emotional balance and health. I trained as a Hatha Yoga Teacher with AIPYS, and I am currently continuing with more studies.
In my childhood I competed for years as a gymnast in high competition. Afterwards I looked for a balanced discipline that respected body and mind without competition. That's when I discovered Yoga. It resulted in my taking the 500 hour Teacher Training at Yoga Center and the joy of sharing Yoga with others as a teacher.

I have a masters degree (MA) in Literature. I was trained in the practice of Yoga - Hatha and Iyengar styles - by Yoga Center Madrid. In recent years I have delved into the study of Buddhism especially the Triratna movement. I have practiced mindfulness, yoga and meditation for myself and experienced increased harmony and richness in everyday life
